THOSE ALMOST SUMMER VIBES //HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA\\

As we quickly approach summer, I am getting quickly pumped for the beach days, pool hangs and warm summer nights. To expedite all of those feelings, I jumped in front of Sierra Ashely Co's camera and snapped a few fun shots at the Pacific City Shopping area in Huntington Beach. I loved rocking these new pieces from Urban Outfitters and Forever 21.

I thoroughly loved shooting with Sierra! She is high energy, positive, encouraging and innovative to work with. She genuinely loves to CREATE. Her passion for healthy living, creating memories and relationship is contagious. Shooting together was truly collaborative as we meandered through the shopping area looking for rad walls, cool plants and interesting corners to shoot. Not gonna lie though, there was a lot more talk about life and current updates than talk about the shoot, what angles to capture or any other specifics. Those are the best kind of shoots right?! You can check out her instagram (here)! Go give her some love!

Tell me what you think!

CARPOOL CHOREOGRAPHY //UCLA GYMNASTICS\\

Modeled after the infamous ride-alongs with James Corden for his evening talk show - I was asked to host some of the UCLA Gymnastics Team members in Carpool Choreography! In the spirit of my heart for this blog space, I must tell you about the brilliancy of the Videographer, Editor, Director, Co-Producer & Sound Mixer for Carpool Choreography, Deanna Hong!

Deanna is one of the most brilliant story tellers I have ever worked with in my time in the industry. She has a natural niche for pulling out the beautiful and most acclaimed parts of a person's story. She knows the right questions to ask, the best angles to shoot at and is always there to capture those unforgettable moments. I can definitely relate to Deanna because we both did not grow up around the sport of Gymnastics. Since entering into the world of this sport, we have both absorbed as much knowledge about the sport so that we can do our best with our jobs accordingly. This has been the biggest challenge, but greatest gift for the both of us as we both have become well known in our own respective niche. Deanna's passion for this sport even lead her to working for NBC this summer during the Rio Olympic Games! Talk about hard work and dedication paying off!

You all need to go and check out her other work on her Instagram (click here) or Youtube (click here) to see her story telling brilliancy! It was amazing working with her on the Carpool Choreography Series, and can't wait to work on more projects in the future!

OLD FRIENDS, GOOD TALENT //DTLA, CA\\

It all started back in 2012. Nicole Leever (@nicoleleever) saw talent in me that I had not yet discovered. She was shooting a campaign pitch for a local company and asked me to be involved. I really had no idea what I was doing in front of the camera, but her direction and trust helped create some rad images.

4 years later, here we are. Fully styled, less direction, more collaboration, same trust and the conversation is even better. It was an amazing time shooting with Nicole for the first time in a while. Nicole books 40 weddings a year, but loves shooting fashion as well. She has an incredible eye for lighting and what it does to a models look - she was constantly giving me tips from the photographers perspective as to how the light is hitting all parts of my face. The beauty of collaboration is that not only was she able to give me some tips, I was helping her with new direction tips for achieving a certain look on the model as well.

Not only did we create these incredible images, but it was a great time catching up on life with Nicole and dreaming with her for her future. We kept looking at each other, saying, "Remember when we first worked together. My how far we have come." Thanks Nicole, for a fun time. Cheers to many more collabs in the future.

THE CONVERSATION //LOS ANGELES, CA\\

It started with another direct message. Honestly, it takes a lot of guts to reach out to someone with a DM on Instagram, but Christina Jengel (@christinajengel) went for it. She DM'd me not too long ago to set up a time to shoot with me in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. I had never been there, so it was a fun adventure to get out and just GO!

After meeting up with Christina, we just walked around the streets by the Arts District Co-op, and saw many murals, rad walls and cool nooks and crannies of the streets. While we walked around she asked me a little more about my story that she didn't already know from my blog post (Cory's Story) and I got to know her as well. The conversation ended up being about her adventure to Los Angeles while attending a small Christian college in Chicago. She interns for the Dream Center and has a huge heart for freedom those victimized by human sex trafficking. Hearing about the passions of her heart made our time together fun and encouraging. It was incredibly rad to share stories of adventure and new beginnings. Not to mention, as you can see here, her eye for portrait photography is definitely something special!

The conversation behind these images was so encouraging.

THE DOWNTOWN //SEATTLE, WA\\

Hopped up to the Pacific Northwest for a little bit of work and a little bit of fun last weekend. It was so fun getting back to a city that I love so much. I love the people, I love the coffee culture, I love the rain – it’s awesome.

I was able to meet up with my incredibly talented friend, Bethany Staudacher (@bethanymarieco), while we were both in town! My first ever blog post on my website were images that Bethany and I shot in Seattle, back in June. We always have a blast shooting; its fun, its easy, its creative and we always run into some sort of weather that keeps the shoot interesting. This time, it was the wind. As we stood on top of a very tall parking structure, the wind was blowing over chainlink fences, blowing my hair over to make a new part, and blowing up my shirt every once in a while. It made for a really fun, yet challenging, time!

Bethany is crazy talented. We were able to catch up on her adventure during New York Fashion Week this month and about what the future holds for her business! So stoked for her and can’t wait to see where her successes continue to take her. As for now, enjoy these incredible images by Bethany, wearing pieces from the new Fear of God line.

THE EAST COAST PREP //NEWPORT BEACH, CA\\

After the images from “The Colorful Life”, Emily Illuminate and I mixed things up and the shoot got preppy down in Newport Beach. Penguin paisley shorts, an open white button down and some Gold Standard Sperry’s rounded out this East Coast Prep look! Emily and I were cracking up the whole shoot because I just took on the character so well. We named myself Nigel and decided to go with the businessman theme for the images. We put Nigel away towards the end of the day and met up with my inner all-american skater boy look.

Emily made things so much fun on set while we were shooting. She was throwing down British accents, asking questions about poses and gave great direction to get the best head and body positioning for camera. She willingly admitted that male modeling poses were not her strong suit, but as we worked together, we were able to educated each other throughout our time together!
